We at Loz believe your data is yours. You have the right to know what we collect, why, and how we use it. And your right, even after sharing it, to delete it easily, anytime.
This page combines our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy into one document so everything is clear. By using Loz, you agree to everything here.
What We Mean
"We" or "Loz" — The Loz recipe tracking and improvement app. "You" — The person using the app. "Your Content" — The recipes, notes, ratings, and cooking attempts you save.
Data We Collect
The Loz App
Account info: To use the app's features, we store your name and email. You can use Loz anonymously for some limited features.
Your recipes & attempts: We store them. This content is yours — we only use it to provide the service.
AI insights: When you use the feature, we send your recipe data to DeepSeek to analyze your cooking. This data is not used to train DeepSeek's models. Results are cached for 7 days.
Technical stats: We store your IP address and collect crash reports.
Usage analytics: We collect info on feature interactions and device type to improve the app.
What we NEVER collect: Government IDs, precise location, your contacts, browsing history outside our app.
The Marketing Site
Cookies: We collect analytics on site visitors — approximate location, device type, browsing history.
Usage stats: Click and page interaction data to improve the site.
Cookies

When you first open the app, you can control your cookie preferences. Accept All, Reject All, or customize. Your choice is saved locally.
Who We Share Data With
We generally don't share your data. But we rely on a few external services to operate:

AI Insights
Loz uses DeepSeek (an AI model) to analyze your recipes:
- Output ownership: The insights generated are yours, as far as the law allows.
- No training: Your data is not used to train DeepSeek's models.
- Not facts: AI output is probabilistic and may contain errors or hallucinations. Always verify before following advice.
- Your responsibility: You're responsible for checking output before use. Don't rely on it for allergy or safety decisions.
Who Can Use It
You must be 13 or older. Between 13 and 18? Get a parent or guardian's OK.
Accounts
You're responsible for:
- Your password.
- Everything that happens on your account.
- Telling us immediately if someone else uses it without permission.
What Not to Do
- Illegal use.
- Attempting to access other accounts.
- Uploading malware or bots.
- Using AI insights for medical or legal decisions.
Break these rules? We may suspend or delete your account.
Your Content
Your recipes and notes are yours. You give us permission to store and show them so we can provide the service.
Intellectual Property
"Loz," the logo, design — ours. Don't copy or distribute without written permission.
Account Deletion
Delete your account anytime. If you break these rules, we may suspend it. When deleted, we erase your data as described above.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The app and AI insights are provided "as is." No warranties. We don't guarantee the app is always error-free or that insights are accurate.
Children
We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you're a parent and believe your child shared data with us, contact us and we'll delete it immediately.
Your Rights
- Request a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data entirely.
- Withdraw consent for analytics anytime.
Security
We use encryption, firewalls, and threat detection tools. But like any service, there's always a margin for error. No method is 100% secure.
Changes
If we update these terms, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use the app means you accept the changes.
